How Bangsal harbour works
Bangsal is a small harbour on Lombok’s north-west coast, opposite the three Gilis. Cars stop at the gate and car park a short walk from the jetty; your driver helps with bags and walks you to the Koperasi (public boat) ticket office, the only place to buy public boat tickets. Ignore anyone who approaches the car offering “tickets” or “the last boat”.
Boat options from Bangsal
- Public boat: cheapest, leaves when full (usually every 30–60 minutes in the morning, less often after lunch), 10–15 minutes to Gili Air, 20 to Gili Meno, 30–40 to Gili Trawangan. Last departure around 4.30–5 pm depending on season and sea.
- Fast boat: scheduled, 10–15 minutes, some companies leave from Bangsal and some from the nearby jetties at Teluk Nare and Teluk Kodek. We drop at whichever your ticket says.
- Private charter: go when you like in daylight, straight to your island and often straight to your hotel’s beach. We arrange it and it is the answer for late arrivals.
Timing your transfer
For a public boat aim to reach Bangsal before 2 pm; for a fast boat, 30 minutes before departure; for a charter, any time before about 5 pm. From Kuta that means leaving by 11 am at the latest, from the airport by 12.30 pm. If you land later, tell us and we will book a charter or suggest a night in Senggigi.
Coming back
Boats from the Gilis land at the same jetty. Send us your boat and time and your driver waits in the car park with a name board. Public boats back to Bangsal run from early morning; the first one is the emptiest.
Nearby jetties

Where is Bangsal harbour?
On the north-west coast of Lombok near Pemenang, about 25 km north of Senggigi. It is the main departure point for Gili Trawangan, Gili Air and Gili Meno.
What time is the last boat from Bangsal?
Public boats usually stop around 4.30–5 pm; fast boats a little later in high season. Private charters run until dusk. We check the day’s schedule when you book.
Can you drop us at Teluk Nare or Teluk Kodek instead?
Yes. Some fast boats and the Bali boats leave from those jetties five minutes south of Bangsal. Tell us the company and we drop you at the right one.
Is Bangsal harbour safe? I have read about touts.
The harbour is safe; the touts are just persistent. Buy public tickets only at the Koperasi counter, which your driver will walk you to, and agree fast-boat prices in writing beforehand.
Can we buy tickets in advance?
Fast boats and charters, yes, and we can arrange them. Public boat tickets are sold only at the counter on the day.
