Ekas Bay sits on the south-east peninsula, an hour’s drive from Kuta to the fishing village of Awang and then a 20-minute boat ride across the bay. Inside Ekas is a long, walling right that handles size and suits intermediates on a smaller day; Outside Ekas is a heavier, hollow left for experienced surfers on a solid swell. Both are best on a mid tide with morning offshores.
Pickup 5.30 am, boat from Awang by 7, two sessions with a break at the floating warung, back in Kuta mid-afternoon. Boats run IDR 400,000–600,000 per boat for the day; we call the boatman ahead so he is waiting.
