Suggested itinerary
Depart Kuta (8 am)
North via Praya and Kopang into the hills. Rice terraces and tobacco fields on the way, about 2 hours.
Benang Stokel (10 am)
A 20-minute walk through forest to a twin waterfall dropping into a shallow pool. Swim and photos.
Benang Kelambu (11 am)
Another 30 minutes on foot (or a local ojek) to the curtain falls: water pouring through hanging roots and moss. The better swim.
Lunch (1 pm)
Warung lunch at the car park or in Aik Berik village.
Back to Kuta (4 pm)
Optional stop at Sukarara weaving village or Sade on the way.
About the waterfalls
Benang Stokel (“bundle of thread”) and Benang Kelambu (“thread curtain”) sit on the southern slopes of Mount Rinjani near Aik Berik. Entrance is around IDR 30,000 per person plus a local guide (IDR 100,000–150,000 per group), which is compulsory and worth it: the paths fork and the guides know where the swimming is safe after rain.
What to bring
Swimwear, sandals with grip, a dry bag and a change of clothes. It rains up here even in the dry season. The walk is moderate: about 3 km round trip with some steps.
Comparing with Sendang Gile

Is the walk difficult?
Moderate. Around 3 km in total on a forest path with steps; fine for reasonably fit kids and adults.
Can we swim?
Yes at both falls. Benang Kelambu has the nicer pool. Your guide will tell you if the water is too high after rain.
